Japanese: 瓶ヶ森 - かめがもり

A mountain in the Ishizuchi Mountains on the southern border of Saijo City, Ehime Prefecture. It is 1,897m above sea level. Its base is crystalline schist of the Nagatoro Metamorphic Rocks, and the Niname Formation, which is part of the lower part of the Kuma Group of the Ishizuchi Tertiary System, forms the mountain's body. It is an ancient peneplain that rose up and remains at a high position, with a flat surface at the summit, giving it the name Himi Nisenkokuhara. The surface is covered with thickets of Miyako Sasa, and scattered with skeletal forests of Abies salicina. It has a beautiful subalpine landscape and excellent views. 愛媛県西条市の南境，石鎚山脈にある山。標高1897m。基盤は長瀞変成岩の結晶片岩で，石鎚第三系の久万層群下部の二名（にみよう）層が山体をつくる。古い時代の準平原が隆起して高位置に残存するもので，頂上に平たん面がひらけ，氷見（ひみ）二千石原の称がある。地表にはミヤコザサが茂り，ウラジロモミの白骨林が点在する。亜高山帯性の景観が美しく，眺望もよい。石鎚国定公園に含まれている。【相馬正胤】
