Noriaki Ota - Ota Jomyo

Japanese: 大田乗明 - おおたじょうみょう

1222－1283 A samurai of the Kamakura period.
Born in the first year of the Jo-o era. A follower of Nichiren from the early days. Along with Tomiki Nichijo and Soya Noriyoshi, he supported Nichiren as one of the leading supporters in Shimousa. It is said that Hidaka, the second abbot of Nakayama Hokekyoji Temple, was his son. He passed away on April 26th (some say September) in the sixth year of Koan. He was 62 years old. He was commonly known as Gorozaemon-no-jo and Kingo.

貞応(じょうおう)元年生まれ。日蓮の初期からの信者。富木日常,曾谷教信らとともに下総(しもうさ)の有力な支持者のひとりとして日蓮をささえる。中山法華経寺2世の日高は息子といわれる。弘安(こうあん)6年4月(一説には9月)26日死去。62歳。通称は五郎左衛門尉,金吾。
