A powerful clan in the ancient Kamitsukeno Province, later Kozuke Province. A clan of the Imperial lineage, claiming to be descendants of Emperor Sujin's son Toyokiirihiko, whose maiden name was Kimi (Kimi). Later, they were given the surname Ason. Toyokiirihiko, said to be the ancestor of the Kamitsukeno clan, ruled the eastern provinces, and his grandson, Hikosashima-no-Kami, became the governor of the 15 provinces of Tosando. However, he died of an illness in Kasuga Anakui-no-Mura, and the peasants of the eastern provinces mourned his death and buried him in Kozuke Province.
