...It is found only in Honshu and Shikoku west of Shizuoka and Ishikawa prefectures, and on Mount Kurokami in Arida, Saga prefecture. The closely related D. pauciflora (Fr.et Sav.) Nakai is found on the Izu Peninsula, while D. yakushimensis (Nakai) Masam. and D. phymatoglossa (Koidz.) Nakai are found in central and southern Kyushu and Amami Oshima. Also, D. trichotoma (Thunb.) Nakai, which has opposite leaves and is almost hairless on all parts, is found in the Kinki region west to Kagoshima prefecture and in southern Korea. ...
