Born on March 2, 1770. Second son of Okubo Tadataka. Served as aide and young councilor. In 1717, he became the first head of the Okubo family to rule Karasuyama Domain in Shimotsuke (Tochigi Prefecture). He was awarded 20,000 koku of rice. In 1718, he became a senior councilor and was given an additional 10,000 koku of rice. He died on September 8, 1718, at the age of 54. He was commonly known as Heihachiro and Ichijuro.
