...The larvae probably develop in shallow pools in the marshes. In addition to this subspecies, the large (males about 5.5 cm, females about 6 cm) Ooyezotombo, which can be called a lowland type, can be seen in the summer in Honshu, but there are also many intermediate-sized ones, so it is difficult to distinguish between the two. There are about nine other species of Corduliidae dragonflies in northern Japan, including Karakanetombo, Takanetombo, Koezotombo, Hosomimoritombo, Hanebiroezotombo, Torafutombo, and Ootorafutombo, and there are also three southern species of Minamitombo in the Ogasawara Islands and Ryukyu Islands.
