One of the five Great Lakes in North America. Located on the border between the United States and Canada, it has an area of 59,570 km2 , making it the second largest of the five. The lake surface is 176 m above sea level. Its maximum depth is 228 m. Georgian Bay is on the Canadian side. It is an important transportation route for iron ore, coal, limestone, wheat, etc., due to the heavy industrial areas along the coast.
