Ouchi, located at the northern end of the town, was a post station on the Aizu Nishi Kaido road in the early modern period. It declined with the opening of the Aizu Sanpo Road in 1884, but the townscape of the post station has been well preserved even today. It is home to the natural monument Tonohetsuri, the Nakayama Wind Cave Plant Community, and the Asahidaji Kannon Hall, an important cultural property.
