Indian logic was developed independently of Western logic. In India, logic is commonly called nyāya (reason) in all schools, but among Buddhists it is called hetu-vidyā (cause). Indian logic was established in the 2nd century by the non-Buddhist school of nyāya, and Buddhists also accepted this logic.
