Nicking

Japanese: nicking
Nicking

...Especially on Easter, people would give each other painted eggs, which later became a children's game. In England, they would play egg rolling and egg spoon carrying contests, in Germany they would search for Easter eggs hidden in fields, and in America they would hand out sweet or chocolate eggs to children, and in nicking, they would hit eggs together and the one who didn't break would get the other person's egg. There were also many superstitions about eggs, and it was considered bad luck to take them outside after dark or to sell them, and dreams about eggs were thought to be a sign of bad luck.
