Hair ornaments - Hair ornaments

Japanese:
Hair ornaments - Hair ornaments
These are accessories worn in or around the hair to enhance the hairstyle or face, or to prevent hair from becoming messy. It is known that shell hair ornaments were used as early as the Paleolithic period. Like other accessories, they have many uses, ranging from practical purposes such as keeping warm and protecting oneself, to those that reflect religious beliefs, those that satisfy decorative or aesthetic instincts, and those that symbolize gender, status, or belonging to a group. In general, many of them are difficult to distinguish from headgear or headdresses. Headgear such as hats, hoods, and hand towels are also included in the broad definition of hair ornaments.
