Wang Zhuyun - Ouchikuun

…Chinese calligrapher and scholar of the early Qing dynasty. Born in Jintan, Jiangsu Province. His pen name was Ruolin, and his pen names were Xuzhou and Zhuyun. He was a Jinshi in the 51st year of the Kangxi era (1712). He entered the Hanlin School as a household affairs officer, and later became a Wairang in the Ministry of Personnel. He studied calligraphy under Ouyang Xun and others of the Tang dynasty, and excelled in strict regular script, while his cursive script was taught by the Jin people. He left behind excellent works in rinmo and copying, and can be said to have been a pioneer of the so-called book study school. He was also famous as a calligraphy critic and classical scholar, and wrote works such as Xuzhou Inscribed Postscript, Zhuyun Inscribed Postscript, and Examination of the Secret Pavilion of Chunhua. …
