Tarāburs al-Sham (English spelling)

…It has been known as a port city since before the Common Era. In Arabic it is Tarāburs al‐Shām. The Greek name Tripoli, meaning “three cities,” comes from the fact that the Sidonians, Tyrians, and Aradians lived in three separate locations; its Phoenician name is unknown.
