En'i - En'i

Japanese:
En'i - En'i
A monk said to be the author of "Eden of Ippen Shonin (Ippen Seie)" at Kankikoji Temple. Although the colophon states that it was written by En'i, there is no record of him as an artist. The skillful composition, depiction of groups of figures, skilled brushwork, and excellent sense of color suggest the artist's solid skill, but it is difficult to say that the entire volume was painted by the same person, and it is assumed that it was the work of a group of artists with similar styles and techniques.
