This is a two-volume book that categorized and collected ancient documents that had been kept by the Higaki Hyogo family, the head priests of the Geku Shrine in Ise. The title was chosen because the Higaki family's crest was a kabura-ya arrow, but the original title was "Higaki Hyogoke Shomon Kyuki Anshu" and was also known as "Higaki Documents" and "Ichiki Documents." It was compiled by Watarai Tsunemoto, a deputy chief priest of the Geku Shrine. In 1663 (Kanbun 3), when the world was at peace and the shrine was finally restored, Tsunemoto compiled ancient documents from the Kamakura period to the end of the Warring States period, most of which are related to samurai donations of shrine land and prayers for military fortune.
