Eriksen Value - Eriksen Value

...The thin plate to be tested (a disk with a diameter of 90 mm, or a square with sides of 90 mm, or a strip with a width of 90 mm) is inserted between the die and blank holder of the Erichsen testing machine and pressed from above with a hemispherical punch. The punch is pressed in until a crack appears at the top of the bottom surface of the plate that is expanding into a cup shape, and the depth measured in mm at that point is called the Erichsen value. The higher this value, the greater the material's ability to deform without breaking, and the easier it is to deep draw.
