Phillipsiidae

...The number of Phacops species decreased from the Silurian to the Devonian, but they reached their peak during this period. In the Carboniferous and Permian periods, only members of the Phillipsiidae family remained as major species, and they became extinct at the end of the Permian period. Recent research has shown that the Cambrian to Ordovician minor arthropods ( Agnostus , for example) are closer to crustaceans than trilobites due to the shape of their appendages, and their classification is being reconsidered.
