This book details the contents of the fourth volume of Sato Nobuhiro's earlier work, "Economic Summary," "Suito," and paints an ideal image of the nation. It was transcribed by Nobuaki Sato and his disciple Okubo Toru from his oral dictation (estimated to have been around 1832). It was completed in 1857 (Ansei 4), after Sato's death. Three of the five volumes have been lost, leaving only two, "Six Provinces" and "Elementary Schools." It put forward a kind of national socialist image of Japan, in which "three dai and six provinces" were established throughout Japan, and the people were divided into eight trades: "grass, wood, mining, artisan, kayak, hire, boat, and fishing." Included in "Nihon Shiso Taikei." [Tsukaya Akihiro] Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
