Emerald Monitor Lizard

...They have powerful limbs and long tails. Most are terrestrial, but some are arboreal, such as the beautiful green emerald monitor lizard V. prasinus from Papua, and some live in the desert, such as the desert monitor V. griseus , found from Western Sahara to Pakistan. They are diurnal, running fast on the ground and climbing trees, but they are also good swimmers and many species prefer water.
