F Zone - Efuryoiki

...A layer called sporadic E (E s ) can suddenly appear in the E region. The F region is located at an altitude of about 130 to 1000 km, and the main source of ionization is the solar ultraviolet rays (800 to 100 Å). In the daytime F region, two layers, the F1 layer and the F2 layer, with peaks of electron density at altitudes of about 170 km and 300 km, respectively, are formed.
