Complex sentence

...There are various types of subordinate clauses, each of which is called a noun clause, adverb clause, relative clause, etc. depending on its function. A sentence that does not contain a clause (if the entire sentence is also called a clause, then it would be a sentence consisting of only one clause) is called a "simple sentence," a sentence that contains a coordinate clause is called a "compound sentence," and a sentence that contains a main clause and a subordinate clause is called a "complex sentence." For example, "My brother is running.
