However, as the occupied territories expanded during the Sino-Japanese War, they began to operate secretly in the occupied territories, such as political maneuvering, administrative guidance, and economic scheming, and were reorganized into the Shanghai Army Department, the Hebei Province Special Agency (Beijing), the Nanjing Special Agency, the Shandong Province Special Agency (Jinan), and the Hankou Special Agency, and in the summer of 1943, they were renamed the Liaison Department. Temporary agencies were established for the south, such as the South Agency for operations in Burma (now Myanmar) and the F Agency for operations in India, but the South Agency was dissolved with the inauguration of a military government following the invasion of Burma, and the F Agency was dissolved and developed into the Iwabe (Heroic) Agency, which had lost its scheming nature. …　中国には辛亥革命以後，各地に駐在官が派遣され，上海，北京，南京，天津，済南，漢口，広東の駐在官を特務機関と称したが，日中戦争による占領地の拡大にともない，占領地の政治工作，行政指導，経済謀略などに暗躍するようになり，上海陸軍部，河北省特務機関(北京)，南京特務機関，山東省特務機関(済南)，漢口特務部などに改編され，1943年夏，連絡部と改称した。対南方機関としてはビルマ(現ミャンマー)工作の南機関，インド工作のF機関など臨時の機関が設置されたが，ビルマ攻略による軍政発足とともに南機関は解消し，F機関も謀略的色彩を除いた岩畔(豪雄)機関に発展解消した。占領地特務機関に類似の外国の機関として，日本占領アメリカ軍のCIC(Counterintelligence Corps)＝対敵情報部隊などがあげられる。…
