Enuma Anu Enlil

…Records of the correspondence between the movements of the heavenly bodies and the fates of people and nations date back to the beginning of the 2nd millennium BC. The oldest astrological text, Enuma-anu-enlil, records the omen of Sin (the moon god), Shamash (the sun god), Adad (the weather god), and Ishtar (the Venus god), and is thought to have been created during the First Babylonian Dynasty (its heyday was in the 18th century BC). This tradition extended to the Assyrian and Persian Empires, and since Babylonia was also called Chaldea by the Greeks, this sacred science was called the "Chaldean art" and the priestly class that monopolized it was called the "Chaldeans." …
