Japanese: 江戸枡 - えどます

〘Noun〙 A masu issued by Edo Masuza. It is 5 sun long, 5 sun wide, and 2.5 sun deep. It was sold to 33 provinces in the eastern part of Japan with official permission. It was originally the same capacity as the Kyoto Masuza masu sold to 35 provinces in the western part of Japan, but as the differences gradually increased, the shogunate abolished this in February 1669 and unified it with Kyoto masu. *Edict Kanpo Shusei - 34, February 1669, "Edo masu will now be changed to be the same as Kyoto masu."
