Japanese: 天下茶屋物 - てんがぢゃやもの

This is a play that appears in Kabuki and Joruri and has the theme of the revenge at Tenka-chaya on the Sumiyoshi Highway in Osaka. The first Kabuki play was "Daigan Jyoju: Tenka-chaya Mura" (co-written by Namiki Jusuke and Nagawa Kamesuke) which was performed at the Fujikawa Sango-za Theater in Osaka from December 9, 1781 (Tenmei 1). This play dramatized the Tenka-chaya revenge incident into the world of the Omi Genji clan and was well-received, running until February of the following year. In parallel with this work, "Renga-chaya Homare no Bundai" (co-written by Nagawa Shimesuke and Masuyama Kinpachi) was also performed at the Yamashita Kinsaku-za Theater in the center from December 16, 1781.

歌舞伎，浄瑠璃にあらわれる大坂住吉街道の天下茶屋の仇討をテーマとした作品。歌舞伎では1781年(天明1)12月9日より大坂角の芝居藤川山吾座で上演した《大願成就　殿下茶屋聚（てんがぢややむら）》(並木十輔，奈河（ながわ）亀輔合作)が最初。これは天下茶屋の仇討事件を近江源氏の世界に脚色したもので好評を博し，翌年2月まで続演した。この作品と並行して81年12月16日から中の芝居山下金作座でも《連歌茶屋誉文台（れんがぢややほまれのぶんだい）》(奈河七五三助（しめすけ），増山金八合作)を上演した。
