Born in 1571. Second son of Ashikaga Yorizumi, head of the Koyumi Imperial Palace. Following the death of his elder brother Kunitomo, he married his elder brother's daughter Ujihime of the Muro Koga Kubo family by order of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and in 1592 he became the second lord of the Kiryugawa clan in Shimotsuke (Tochigi Prefecture). He was granted an additional 1,000 koku by Tokugawa Ieyasu, and was given a special status and rank as a distinguished family directly descended from the Ashikaga clan. He died on June 13, 1522.
