Mr. Yoriuji Kitsuregawa

Mr. Yoriuji Kitsuregawa
1580-1630 Azuchi-Toyotomi - A daimyo in the early Edo period.
Born in 1571. Second son of Ashikaga Yorizumi, head of the Koyumi Imperial Palace. Following the death of his elder brother Kunitomo, he married his elder brother's daughter Ujihime of the Muro Koga Kubo family by order of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and in 1592 he became the second lord of the Kiryugawa clan in Shimotsuke (Tochigi Prefecture). He was granted an additional 1,000 koku by Tokugawa Ieyasu, and was given a special status and rank as a distinguished family directly descended from the Ashikaga clan. He died on June 13, 1522. He was 51 years old.

天正(てんしょう)8年生まれ。小弓御所足利頼純(よりずみ)の次男。兄国朝(くにとも)の死去にともない,豊臣秀吉の命により兄の室古河公方(こがくぼう)家の氏姫(うじひめ)を妻とし,文禄(ぶんろく)3年下野(しもつけ)(栃木県)喜連川藩主喜連川家2代となる。徳川家康から1000石を加増され,足利氏直系の名家として特殊な地位と家格をあたえられた。寛永7年6月13日死去。51歳。
