...Three species have been recorded from Japan, all of which are distributed from Hokkaido to Kyushu. The Siberian red plank beetle C. opacus , which is found in mountainous areas, is similar to the red plank beetle, but its forewings are not shiny. The blue plank beetle C. mniszechii , which is found in higher altitudes, has a body length of about 25 mm and blue-tinted forewings.
