Kanenobu Kouki - Kanenobu Kouki

Japanese: 兼宣公記 - かねのぶこうき

This is the diary of Hirohashi Kanenobu (1366-1429), a nobleman from the early Muromachi period. Also known as Senki, it contains articles from 1387-1428 (Genchu 4, Kakei 1-Shocho 1). Kanenobu was a relative by marriage of Emperor Go-En'yu, and served as a military messenger and liaison between the Imperial Court and the Shogunate, making it a good historical source for learning about the relationship between the Imperial Court and the Shogunate during that period. There are 31 scrolls of the handwritten version in the Toyo Bunko, and copies are kept in the Cabinet Library, the Imperial Household Agency Archives and Mausolea Department, and the Historiographical Institute. 室町前期の公家広橋兼宣(1366‐1429)の日記。別称《宣記》。1387‐1428(元中4∥嘉慶1‐正長1)の記事がある。兼宣は後円融天皇の外戚にあたり，武家伝奏の役も務めて朝廷と幕府の連絡にもあたったので，当該時期における朝幕関係を知ることができるよい史料である。東洋文庫に自筆本が31軸あるほか，内閣文庫，宮内庁書陵部，史料編纂所に写本がある。《史料纂集》所収。【清田善樹】
