Japanese: 恵山[温泉] - えさん

...In 1846 (Koka 3), an eruption accompanied by mudflows caused many casualties. Esan Onsen (Harada Onsen) is located on the southern slope of the mountain, and is said to have been used as a therapeutic hot spring resort since the Ansei era (1854-60). Until the early Showa era, it was one of the representative Jigoku Onsen hot springs, with an inn on the crater floor, but today the hot spring water is drawn by gravity from the site of this hot spring to the inn on the mountainside.
