Koban Yoji (English: Koban Yoji)

Japanese: 考槃余事 - こうばんよじ（英語表記）Kǎo pán yú shì

It is said to have been written by Tu Long (1542-1605), a Chinese connoisseur of the Ming Dynasty, but most of the content is taken from Gao Lian's Zunsheng Bafu and Cao Zhao's Gegu Yaolun, and it is said that the publisher misrepresented him. The first edition was in four volumes, but was later reorganized into 17 volumes, and is a concise commentary on things necessary for the philosophical life of a literati, ranging from calligraphy, notebooks, and paintings to stationery such as brushes and ink, utensils, clothing, toys, incense, tea, and goldfish. Kaoban is the name of a chapter in the Book of Songs called Weifeng, meaning to avoid the world and indulge in one's own pleasures.

中国，明の鑑識家，屠隆（とりゆう）(1542‐1605)の著とされるが，内容の大半は，高濂の《遵生八牋》により，曹昭の《格古要論》などからも多く採られていて，出版者が彼の名を偽託したものといわれている。初版は4巻であったが，のち17巻に改編され，書･帖･画より筆墨などの文房具，器服･遊具から香･茶･金魚におよぶ，文人の趣味生活に必要な事物についての要領のよい解説書である。考槃とは《詩経》衛風の篇名で，世を避けて自分の楽しみにふける意。
