Nagahiro - Long-awaited

〘 noun 〙 In the Edo period, a long search was made by relatives or town/village officials for a fugitive criminal or suspect . This was done when the suspect could not be found within a six-month period of searching. Formally, it was an indefinite search order, but in reality, it was practically an exemption from the duty to investigate.
