Price index insurance

Since life insurance is a long-term product, it is possible that the coverage will decrease due to rising prices. Price index insurance, designed to solve this problem, was first released in 1976. This insurance is a type of term insurance that is not paid in full and is intended only to provide death coverage, but the insurance payout is automatically increased each year in line with the national consumer price index, and the premiums are recalculated based on this. Products sold have a limited insurance period of five years, but to meet the needs of policyholders, the policy can be renewed if requested before the end of the insurance period.

生命保険は長期にわたる商品であるので，物価の上昇によって保障が目減りすることも考えられる。この問題を解決するために設計された生命保険が物価指数保険で，1976年に初めて発売された。この保険は死亡保障だけを目的とする掛捨ての定期保険の一種であるが，保険金は毎年，全国消費者物価指数にあわせて自動的に増額され，これに基づいて保険料が再計算される仕組みになっている。販売されている商品は，保険期間が5年に限られているが，契約者の要望にこたえるために，保険期間終了前に申し出れば更新できることになっている。
