Kanamori Tsurin

Protestant theologian. Congregational pastor. He became a member of the Kumamoto Band under Janes's guidance at the Kumamoto Foreign School, and then studied theology at Doshisha University. In his book Present and Future Christianity in Japan (1891), he presented a liberal neo-theological stance, emphasizing the harmony of Christianity with culture in general and with other religions. He left the church for a time to enter business and politics, but eventually returned to become an itinerant evangelist, and his religious stance also involved various organizations, including the Salvation Army and the Holiness Church.

プロテスタント神学者。組合教会牧師。熊本洋学校でジェーンズ指導下の熊本バンドの一員となり、ついで同志社に神学を学ぶ。『日本現今の基督(キリスト)教並(ならび)に将来の基督教』（1891）によって自由主義的な新神学的立場を明らかにし、キリスト教と文化一般また他宗教との融和を強調した。一時、教会を去って実業界、政界に投じたが、やがて復帰して巡回伝道者となり、信仰上の立場も救世軍、ホーリネス教会などを遍歴した。
