In addition, there are axes with a vertical axe blade on one end and a horizontal axe blade on the other end (Hungarian Bronze Age), and double axes with vertical axe blades on both ends. The latter is also famous as a battle axe (late Neolithic to Bronze Age in Europe), and was developed for ritual use in the Minoan civilization, where it was called a labrys and became a religious symbol.
