From Yugoslavia

...In pre-war Belgrade, poets such as Crnjanski and Dabicho produced works that veered from expressionism to surrealism, while Nušić mocked reality with his satire.
[Post-World War II literature]
During the socialist period after World War II, Macedonian was established as a literary language through the efforts of poets such as Koneski, and following the tradition of K. Miladinov and Kočo Racin (1908-43), Slavko Janevski (1920- ) and Vlada Urošević (1934- ) emerged, breathing new life into the poetry world. Yugoslavia clashed with the Cominform in 1948, and was able to break free from the spell of socialist realism before other Eastern European countries.
