A Chinese Zen monk from the early Northern Song Dynasty, also known as Mingjiao Daishi and Butsuji Qi Song. His surname was Li, and his courtesy name was Zhongling or Qianzi. He was from Tsubajin in Fujizhou (western Guangxi Province). He traveled around the country, and received the teachings of Dongshan Xiaocong in Nanchang, where he became the 5th Yunmen monk and was active in Qiantang. While he wrote books on the history of Zen Buddhism, such as Denpo Zhengzongji and Dingzu, he clarified the position of religion as supporting politics, in contrast to Ouyang Xiu and others who revived the academic world of the scholar-officials and rejected Buddhism, and wrote the Fukyohen and other works. He is the author of the 20-volume Tsubajin Collection, which had a great influence on Japanese Gozan literature.

中国，北宋初期の禅僧で，明教大師，仏日契嵩ともいう。姓は李，字は仲霊，潜子とも名のる。藤州(広西省西部)の鐔津の人。各地を遊歴し，南昌で洞山暁聡の法をうけて，雲門5世となり，銭塘で活動する。《伝法正宗記》《定祖図》など，禅宗史の本を書くかたわら，欧陽修らが士大夫の学を興し，仏教を排斥するのに対し，政治を助ける宗教の立場を明らかにして，《輔教編》その他をつくる。《鐔津文集》20巻があり，日本の五山文学への影響が大きい。
