Lake Katrine (English spelling)

Japanese: カトリン[湖]（英語表記）Loch Katrine

A lake in the southwest of the Central County (formerly Perth County) in central Scotland, UK. Located at an altitude of 111m, it is about 15km long and 3km wide, with a maximum depth of 151m. It is a glacial lake flooded in the U-shaped valley of the River Tees, and is surrounded by hills such as Ben Venue Mountain (730m) and forests. The beautiful scenery, including Ellen Island in the lake, was the setting for W. Scott's "The Beauty of the Lake." The lake water has been the source of water for Glasgow since 1859.
