Ubumi

...Population: 13,956 (1995). Located on the eastern shore of Lake Hamana, the northern part is at the end of the Mikatahara Plateau, and the southern part is a lowland lake shore with the settlements of Ubumi and Yamazaki. Salt production has been carried out here since the late Middle Ages and was thriving until the Meiji period.
