...In mountain sacred sites where women are not allowed to enter, halls near the women's barrier at the foot of the mountain became places of seclusion for women who were not allowed to climb the mountain to worship, and were called women's halls, but the names and forms of worship were not uniform. At the foot of Ecchu Tateyama, there is the Uba-do, which enshrines an old woman who greets the dead, and in the old women's barrier on Yoshino's Omine Mountain, there is the Hahako-do, which enshrines the mother of En no Gyoja, and women were allowed to visit up to these points.
