A copper mine in Chita Oblast, central Russia. Located 600 km northeast of Chita city, at an altitude of 1,100 m, it has the largest copper deposits in the Russian Federation. International cooperative development has been a hot topic, and a Japanese visit was made to the mine in 1966. Full-scale development is expected to accelerate with the completion of the BAM railway.
