Ushkuru - Ushkuru

...The courtyard of the shrine was paved with elaborate unglazed clay tiles with bas-reliefs of animals, plants, and people. There are also temple ruins at Pandharathan, Ushkul, Gilgit, and other places, and the style of the towers and the style of the terracotta statues suggest close contact with Gandhara. A large number of Sanskrit manuscripts from the 7th and 8th centuries have been found in a stupa at Gilgit.
