Ushioe

This area is on the south bank of the Kagami River estuary in Kochi City. It was formerly the village of Shioe, and has been reclaimed land since early modern times at the innermost part of Urado Bay. With Kochi Port, cement, chemical, steel and other factories developed in the port area, and more recently it has been turned into a residential area. Fudeyama (Shioeyama) in the west has been the cemetery mountain of the castle town of Kochi since early modern times, and is also the graveyard of the Yamauchi family of the Tosa clan.

高知市の鏡(かがみ)川河口南岸の地区。浦戸(うらど)湾奥部の近世以来の干拓地で、旧潮江村。高知港があり、セメント、化学、製鋼などの工場地区が臨港地帯に発達し、最近は住宅地化が進展した。西の筆山（潮江山）は近世以来、城下高知の墓地山で、土佐藩山内(やまうち)家の墓所もある。
