Japanese: ウォトリング街道 - ウォトリングかいどう（英語表記）Watling Street

One of the four great roads built by the Romans during the Roman period in Britain. It runs from London to Wroxeter and Chester via St. Albans. The other four roads are the Fuos Road, the Icknead Road, and the Ermine Road. Watling is a corruption of the name Waetlingaceaster, which was used by early Anglo-Saxon settlers for St. Albans.

イギリスのローマ帝国領ブリタニア時代にローマ人が建設した四大道の一つ。ロンドンよりセントオールバンズを経てロクシターおよびチェスターにいたる道路。四大道とはこのほかに，フオス街道，イクニード街道，アーミン街道をいう。ウォトリングとは，初期のアングロ・サクソン系移民がセントオールバンズを Waetlingaceasterと呼んだのが転訛したもの。
