Kaijo Nembutsu - Kaijo Nembutsu

...It is about 40-60cm in diameter and is hung on a wooden frame and struck with a mallet. In Buddhism, it is mainly used in the Jodo sect, and the Kaijo Nembutsu (six-character nembutsu, singing nembutsu) performed with the aid of a cloud fan and drums is particularly famous. It is also used in nembutsu dances such as Enshu Dainenbutsu in Shizuoka Prefecture, which became popular among the general public.
