A form of chemical bond when classified superficially according to form. Also called a donor bond or semi-polar bond. Considering one atom as the center, this refers to a bond that has directionality with respect to that atom, in which the electrons involved in the bond are considered to be formally donated only by one of the atoms. In terms of the essence of chemical bonds, it is a type of covalent bond, and is a bond that has both covalent and ionic bond elements. In other words, there is no special bond called a coordinate bond, but it is formally called this. Coordinate bonds are found in complexes and many inorganic and organic compounds.
