Kamuro Mountains - Kamurosanchi

A mountain range that spans three prefectures: Miyagi, Yamagata, and Akita. Its main peak is Mount Kamuroyama (1,365 meters), and its ridges extend in all directions, from Mount Kurikoma in the east to Mount Ookaburayama and Mount Koyaburadake in the south to Mount Hanabuchiyama, from Mount Ogachi Pass along the Akita-Yamagata border in the west to Mount Torageyama and Mount Takamatsudake in the north. Reflecting the intense crustal movements and complex geological structure that are unique to the mountainous region, the mountain has a steep shape compared to its height. Located deep in the Ou Mountains, there are relatively few climbers. In 1965, National Route 108 was opened, connecting Miyagi Prefecture to the Yakunai River in Akita Prefecture, and tourism development is also progressing.

宮城、山形、秋田3県にまたがる山地。主峰は神室山（1365メートル）で、山稜(さんりょう)は四方に延び、東は栗駒山(くりこまやま)に、南は大鏑山(おおかぶらやま)、小鏑岳を経て花淵山(はなぶちやま)に、西は秋田・山形県境に沿って雄勝(おがち)峠に、北は虎毛山(とらげやま)から高松岳に至る。脊梁(せきりょう)山地特有の激しい地殻変動と複雑な地質構造を反映して、高度のわりに急峻(きゅうしゅん)な山容を呈している。奥羽山脈の奥深くに位置することから、登山者も比較的少ない。1965年（昭和40）宮城県から秋田県役内(やくない)川に通ずる国道108号が開通し、観光開発も進みつつある。
