The 12 Aṅgas were compiled from the memories of the 12 Aṅgas, but they were finally compiled and given their present form at a conference in Ballābī, Western India, around the 5th century. The organization consisted of 11 Angas (the 12th is not known), 12 Uvangas, 10 Paiṇṇa, 6 Cheya-suttas, an independent Nandi and Anuogaddhāra, and 4 Mūla-suttas, for a total of 45 scriptures in 7 parts. The dates of creation of each scripture vary, but the oldest are the Āyāra and Sūyagaḍa from the Angha, and the Uttarajjhayaṇa (or Uttarajjhāyā) and Dasaveyāliya from the Mula Sutta. *Some of the terminology that refers to "Mūla-sutta" is listed below.
