Law of causation

Law of causation

...To say that "whenever an event of type A occurs, an event of type B also occurs" is to assert a law. This type of law is generally called the "law of causality." Therefore, Hume used the "law of causality" instead of "force" to explain causal relationships.

From [Law]

...In other words, in the case of logical laws, we are in a situation where we use logical words in a way that makes certain logical laws true. In other words, logical laws are rules for using logical words (such as "not...", "or", "and..." etc.). When we talk about laws, we usually mean causal laws (causal relationships), because when the relationship between cause and effect can be grasped by laws, humans generally have the goal of controlling the cause so as to bring about favorable results and avoid undesirable results. In contrast, in the case of statistical laws, not only is it difficult to control the cause, but it is also difficult to reliably predict the results. ...
