Letter of Approval - Inkajo
In Esoteric Shingon Buddhism, the transfer of esoteric teachings from a master is called an inka or permission, and the certificate of approval is called an inka-sho. In Zen Buddhism, it is also called an inka certificate and is given to disciples along with a portrait of the master as proof that they have mastered the depths of Zen.
