Born November 16, 1906. He wrote poetry while working at the Yahata Steel Works. In 1939, his novel "The Legend of Tomishima Matsugoro," published in Kyushu Bungaku, was nominated for the Naoki Prize, and was later renamed "The Life of Muhomatsu," and was made into a film many times, and also performed on stage. He passed away on January 30, 1980, at the age of 73. He was from Fukuoka Prefecture and graduated from Kokura Technical School. His real name was Hatta Hideyoshi.
